Monkey D. Luffy
Gear 5 wallpapers

The action picks show what Gear 5 does best: turning a fight into a cartoon. Luffy swings a bolt of lightning like a rope over a stormy sea, punches a hole through a cloud bank with a giant rubber fist, and leaps over storm waves. For something stranger, a clay Luffy stretches like taffy across a tiny harbor, and another Luffy bounces across the surface of the moon with a blue planet rising behind him.

The quieter scenes slow him down. He sleeps in a nest of his own cloud trails at sunrise, sits on a lion-head figurehead at dawn, reaches for tangerines on a sunny ship deck and leans back with a plate of meat in a lantern-lit ship galley. Phone versions are 1408 x 3040 pixels and desktop versions are 4K (3840 x 2160).

Gear 5 is the awakened form of Luffy's Devil Fruit. The fruit was known as the Gomu Gomu no Mi until it was revealed to be the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. In Gear 5 his hair, eyebrows and clothes turn white, his eyes turn red ringed in white, white cloud trails swirl around his neck and shoulders, and his rubber body moves like a cartoon. He first used it in his final battle with Kaidou on Onigashima, during the Wano Country arc. For more of the Straw Hat captain, see the Monkey D. Luffy wallpapers and the Straw Hat Pirates.

For a lock screen, pick a phone wallpaper with open sky at the top so the clock does not cover Luffy. The moonlit cloud sea, the crimson moon over the ocean and the castle roof at dusk are dark and calm, which also suits dark mode. For a bright, funny home screen, try the beach dance with dancing palm trees or the grinning moons on hot pink.

On a desktop, Luffy sits in the middle of each wide scene with space on both sides for icons. The great wave and the summer cloud feast are the calmest, and the harbor town bounce is the busiest, full of townspeople pointing up at him.
